Gay movies, Oscars, swallowing flies, etc...

Hello friends
Mornings before exams are exceptionally interesting, there is noise all around but its the kind of noise which can be compared to silence, silence before something big, like the lull before the storm. Everybody is studying, except for a few. I have this policy of not studying right till the point the exam does not begin and hence I can be seen with an issue of TopGear in my hand when everybody has a big fat Pradeep's. The above-mentioned few include me, Dhruv, and a few others.

Today we had english, and I dont think you need to study for that right before your exam. Its a good thing that we now get a preparatory leave for English, cause one can sit back, relax and play games. I, for one, started my course at around 3:00 PM, was done by around 8:30. Yes, that is long, but yea well, I take my time.

Anyways, the morning was fun today as we were talking about the Oscars. Since I dont get any Star Movies anymore, I happened to miss them but I dont think I missed much. There was Ben Stiller trying to act like a cross between Adam Sandler and Nelly, didn't do a very good job at it though. Then there was the much talked about Gay movie Brokeback Mountain. I wonder how anyone came up with an idea like that, I'm glad it didnt win the oscar. We were then joined by Adarsh who was giving his valuable inputs when Siddarth said,"I dont like these movies with one word names"
Me: Crash
Dhruv: Cellular
Adarsh: PHONE BOOTH
(And you all probably guessed how we mustve laughed at that)
And then Adarsh began counting the number of words in that and it dawned upon him that Phone Booth are indeed two different words
The laugh was so bad that Dhruv swallowed a fly, which was followed by an even bigger burst of laughter and Dhruvs sudden change in voice after that delicious little fly. I think he has been much affected by the bird flu and since he can not live without non veg food, moving on to flies now... sweet!!
And just about then, the Shepherd(read Alinda Holla) came and asked us all to move to our classes.
The exam was utterly boring. I was expecting something not too long but due to the extremely boring nature of the paper, I was forced to finish my paper at about 11:00 with no time left for sleeping, hmph. I must congratulate the English Department on how they surprise us with the ever-increasing level of stupidity of the papers. Plus, Literature was 40 marks,'Nuff said.

That done, I moved to my bus and finally finished this months TopGear.
Looking forward to Computers

Torn Apart

In simpler words "Phat Gayi".
So was my state uptil about 1215PM after which I realised that my paper went decent.

After every exam(Barring English), you can classify the students into two groups, those whose exam went extremely well, and those whose exam sucked. Today(Maths), I could see more people around me who belonged to the second group, and I, as a matter of fact, belonged to the same group uptil about the time I mentioned above.

It was a very lengthy paper, it wasnt taking the name of finishing, or khatam hone ka naam hi nahin le raha tha. I was progressing decently though. But the thing was, by around 11:00, I had 3 questions amounting to a total of 14 marks left. I had no idea how to do them and I didnt think I was going to get any ideas. But I still kept trying. 11:10, 1 down, the other 2 didnt seem to want to go down though. Still 10 marks left, what do we do.
Advice: When you are in such a situation, and if all else fails, actually you would be in this situation if all else failed, just keep looking at your question paper and try to visualise the question.
So at 11:10, it suddenly struck me. 11:13, 2 down, I had given up on the last one. I was sitting waiting for the bell to ring. 11:15, sardar's dimaag works again. I asked for the sheet at 11:15, and instead of giving me the sheet, Mr. Anil K dot Verma decided to give me his weird look, everyone else was giving me a weird look too because NOBODY ASKS FOR A SHEET THE MINUTE THE EXAM IS SUPPOSED TO GET OVER. If I had detachable eyes, I wouldve given the look to myself.
Anyways, somehow managed to complete my paper, I dont like it when I have to leave questions like that.

After the very traumatic last 15 minutes, I obviously thought my paper went badly. My first words after finishing the paper were, " Phat Gayi ", as were everyone elses. Nobody was greeting anyone, you could see it on their faces. Nobody said hi, just "phati?" or "lagi?".
And then there was Rhea. She was standing there like a statue, and then went into this weird trance and started shaking everyone around while screaming "40.. 40.. 40". Ah, well, atleast shes getting more than she expected.

Even while coming back, I was either discussing the paper or exclaiming,"Phat Gayi Yaar". I think I said that about 11 times, but whos counting.
At about 12:15PM, a very insightful person asked me the reason why I was so bothered when my paper went left. Very insightful indeed. And the next few minutes, until I reached home, were spent in talking about cars, and TV shows.

Anyways, Im happy Maths is over.

A Cokey Concoction - I

Hello Friends
Februaries are awfully short months and their shortness is realised only when exams approach. You set your time table(If you do) for finishing the course thinking Feb to be a normal 31 day month but its only towards the end that you realise that you're actually 3 days short. This can cost you, specially if you have boards coming up.

Anyways, Moving to DPSRKP.
You know when you're in Class XI, and you have science, you have practicals before exams. You also have practicals when you're in class 10 but they are nothing, just a formality.
I was asked to define photosynthesis in my bio practicals last year, something that we've been learning since class 3.
Yes, so my point is that Class XI practicals are practicals, you actually have to perform experiments. And if you happen to be like me or dhruv kumar for that matter, youre in trouble mister.
Me- Never attended any Chemistry Practicals before half yearlies and never attended any Physics practicals after half yearlies. In my defence, I do things one step at a time.
Dhruv Kumar- He went a step further, never attended any practicals.

What happened in the Practicals then, you might ask
Chemistry
  • Salt Analysis- Well I did all the tests for cations and anions twice, and each time it turned out to be something else. And unless your some person with some super nasal abilities, it is kind of hard to detect ammonia. One more thing, never pour concentrated H2SO4 in a test tube and hold it without a test tube holder, it gets kind of hot.
  • Titration- Since I never attended any of the classes when titrations were performed, I didnt quite manage to do it right, but who cares, I wrote rubbish there.
  • Chemistry Labs have this weird ability to make you forget everything you tried to memorise, which was very much the case with me. This fact is also strengthened when you see 3 teachers and 2 lab asses around you, all chemists. They have this weird look on their face, like theyre gonna pour Acid over you and then quickly neutralise that with a base and take concordant readings, and then calculate Normality(The teachers are hardly normal). But, then again, Lab Asses are good people
  • The Viva was another classic moment. The teacher asked me 3 questions, I didnt quite know all the answers and then let me loose. In my defence, it was the chem lab.
Physics
  • The experiment in Physics were quite easy, specially because two people were performing it together and there was no problem writing all the stuff we were supposed to.
  • Viva- I very confidently gave answers to the questions I knew, to the ones I didnt know, I tried making stories, but its hard when you have this short fat man with spectacles looking at you with a weird grin on his face.
Computers- Saving the best for last
  • Alright, so everyone probably knows that I am comp geek. We had 3 hours for the practical. I finished the questions in about 10 mins and then I had to sit there and wait for the teacher to take my viva. A word of advice: Never finish your question early, act like its real tough and you dont know anything(Not if your an exunite). Anyways, my viva was like some courtroom drama, Anita Rathi, she was asking question after question and many didnt even make sense at all. Our Computer Teacher, Mr. Mohit Dey, just checked my practical file, without even looking at it. Everything was over in about 25 minutes and the rest of the day was spent in playing basketball. Oh, and I got full in comp pracs, but then again whos counting?
Well Thats about it about my practicals. Another post coming up

Just a filler

Hello Friends
Just wanted to post something here today as the month of February had been completely empty.
Nothing much has happened since my last post though. Since the beginning of February, school had been in 6th gear to finish the syllabus.. and by that I mean finishing around 5 chapters in PCM, within 2 weeks.
Apparently, I was enjoying all of this, which is not a very good thing. To elucidate, I was enjoying finishing the syllabus even though I was not enjoying being in school.
Valentines day came and then it went, I had to cancel all my dates(I had 2) because I was too sleepy.
Last Thursday(the day of muharram) was spent in fever and watching Rang De Basanti. Rang De Basanti is a good and different movie, not the average Karan Johar-Gay, Shah Rukh Khan, Huge Star Cast, Shooting outside India.
The thing that separated RDB from all the other movies was the fact that it brought out the truth. For example, When the Minister was shot, the news people talked about involvement of foreign terrorists and shit like that. The media I tell you... I shall do a media bashing thing after the exams. Another thing in RDB was that there were no music scenes in meadows, and running around trees.. THank you Lord. Plus, we all know of the very nice vocabulary the guys use in the movie.

On a sad note, Bird Flu has hit India, which basically means, no Butter Chicken and Garlic Naan(I hope the certain someone is reading this) twice a week... SHIT!... Such is life.

My practical exams commence on Wednesday and Finish on Friday. Exams start next Saturday. This time I am going to be truly, purely screwed, no doubts about that.

OHH.. One more thing. I am going to make a movie after the exams. Its basically the story of Five Point Someone(yes, that book). Im looking for people who have handycams to lend and people whove read the book and ready to act in the movie.
I need 2 fat guys, 1 utterly boring person(with a monotonous voice), One dude, one girl(she need not be very hot, but she need not be the exact opposite of that either), and rest roles ill see.
So Happy Fishing

Wear Sunscreen- Baz Luhrmann

Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ’99
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be
it. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by
scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable
than my own meandering
experience…I will dispense this advice now.

Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not
understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded.
But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and
recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before
you and how fabulous you really looked….You’re not as fat as you
imagine.

Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as
effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing
bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that
never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm
on some idle Tuesday.

Do one thing everyday that scares you

Sing

Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with
people who are reckless with yours.

Floss

Don’t waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes
you’re behind…the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with
yourself.

Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you
succeed in doing this, tell me how.

Keep your old love letters, throw away your old bank statements.

Stretch

Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your
life…the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they
wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year
olds I know still don’t.

Get plenty of calcium.

Be kind to your knees, you’ll miss them when they’re gone.

Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll have children, maybe
you won’t, maybe you’ll divorce at 40, maybe you’ll dance the funky
chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary…what ever you do, don’t
congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either – your
choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s. Enjoy your body,
use it every way you can…don’t be afraid of it, or what other people
think of it, it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever
own..

Dance…even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room.

Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them.

Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.

Get to know your parents, you never know when they’ll be gone for
good.

Be nice to your siblings; they are the best link to your past and the
people most likely to stick with you in the future.

Understand that friends come and go,but for the precious few you
should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and
lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you
knew when you were young.

Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard; live
in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.

Travel.

Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will
philander, you too will get old, and when you do you’ll fantasize
that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were
noble and children respected their elders.

Respect your elders.

Don’t expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund,
maybe you have a wealthy spouse; but you never know when either one
might run out.

Don’t mess too much with your hair, or by the time you're 40, it will
look 85.

Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who
supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of
fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the
ugly parts and recycling it for more than
it’s worth.

But trust me on the sunscreen…

School.. c'est tres boring

Yello there
Like the title says, School is very boring these days.
As one would normally expect with a new year, something new but unfortunately its the same old grind. Nothing is interesting at all.
And it doesnt get any better with our rep coming in everyday and reminding us that we 42 days and counting left for class 12. I always hate it when that happens. In class 10, all year round one is reminded of the fact that it is ze Board year and one should concentrate. To an extent, I would agree but 10th is the last year to partay if you want to get good results in 11th and 12th. Besides, one can always study in the last 2 months and get respectable marks. This is not what i did though. I partayed and concentrated, in equilibrium.
Anyways,
The only subjects that I seem to want to attend are Computers*, English and somewhat Physics.
*Today, I was the first one to complete a program in less than 5 lines.. wooohoooo..

English isnt too bad either. Its the only class where a teacher keeps the whole class interested. Today, she brought us.. Yes Vanita Sehgal brought us chocolates in return for the gift we gave her for her belated birthday. By the way, did I tell you we have a Birthday Club amongst the many other stupid clubs in our class? We collect money and get gifts for all our teachers and get cards for the students.. WOOHOOO. Bet you guys arent that privileged.

And yes, coming to the reason why I dont feel like attending Maths or Chemistry. Well Maths, nobody would want to attend a Maths class if they have the teacher that we have. The Reason: shes so boring. She finishes 3 exercises on an average in one period and shes gone to a maximum of 5.
Well Chem, I dont even feel like writing about her.

Other than that, I dont see what is there in school. All 12thies and 10thies have their exams, which basically leaves me with very few people to interact with.

Yappy Noo Ear

Well Hello there

A very happy new year to all of you.

Whaddaya know? My blogs not dead after all!

It’s been a long year, and it’s been a good year. As a matter of fact, its been my best year so far. Lot has happened this past one year. I, as a student of class 10, took my board exams and passed class 10. I now have an academic qualification to add to my resume.

I went to France, to spend the best 14 days of my life ever. I met some exceptionally great people, the French ones and the ones here (I shall talk about the ones from here later). I also had great food which included Duck, and not to forget Pâté. Basically, like I have already said, the best 14 days of my life.

Coming back from France, the very same day, I was ahem.. greeted by my Board Result which was good. So yes, France is a lucky charm!

I then entered Class 11, 11-J to be more precise. The only person I knew(when I entered it) was Siddharth Nangia, who happened to be with us during the French Trip. I still cant stop laughing at Siddharth holding up a banner which read 11-J in BIG BOLD LETTERS, and in Times New Roman Font Face, which had been handed to him by none other than our very own class teacher, Mr. Anil K. Verma. Our Class Teacher is a class apart, he like to keep the ball Rawling.

Class 11-J doesn’t quite seem like a class of 16 year olds, but this can be only experienced when you listen to the utterly crappy jokes of GP and Co.

Anyways,

Class 11 is quite tiresome and kicks you in the butt and makes class 10 feel like cakewalk. I joined Fiitjee on 6th August and have never enjoyed a Weekend since then. Small Price to pay when your goal is IIT. Class 11, contrary to popular belief, is not the year to partay. And if you think it is the year to partay, and if you do manage to partay through it, have a look at your report card.

The only way you can have fun in class 11 is if you are an Exun Member, or a classmate of an Exun Member. It sure was fun sneaking out of Maths Class when we did not feel like studying.

It is also fun telling a teacher like Ms. Vanita Sehgal that she doesn’t have the brains to read Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy(It aint my fault she didn’t get find it funny)

Nonetheless, School did seem nice this past one year. I met some great people in school, strengthened some old friendships, and had a blast my own little way (sneaking out of class and playing H2G2)

The exceptionally great people from school that I met over the past one year, are exceptionally great. They changed my view of not believing in the concept of having friends because you need them and its cool to have them around to share your joys and sorrows (oh the clichés). But, I did share my joys and sorrows with them.

I made lots of Friends, yes I mean real friends. Mostly by bugging them in the Egurucool Lab(We exunites just call it DA LAB) when they were trying to work, print a magazine, print their reccos, print their forms, print anything. I also made friends by stealing pens during MUN.

These guys and gals have helped me get through this academically tormenting year. Thanks y’all!

The sad thing is, most of them are going to pass out of school this march. Sad. But, Life goes on.

EXUN. Exun is an essential part of my school life and being a member always has its benefits. You are automatically sent to DA LAB to take a print out of anything. The computer teacher(at least Mr. Dey) doesn’t say anything to you for missing his classes. I cant imagine life without EXUN. This year saw the tenth year for Exun, the symposium and what better way to celebrate than to make the greatest Intro Video ever. And im not joking. Its not everyday you hear people say, “Ahhh!.. so that’s why they got Sony as their Sponsor”. Certainly, we are the experts.

MUN was another fun thing. Much more fun than last year, particularly because I got to miss my FIITJEE class and be there all the three days. This year, I held the post of the USG – Information and Computer Services and yes its fun being that. I did manage to scare this little kid at Eatopia when he saw me with my big head(because of the turban on). I have already mentioned how I made friends here.

In the year 2005, I was also offered the Singapore International Airlines(SIA) Youth Scholarship to pursue my pre-university(year 11 and 12) level education in one of Singapore’s top ranking Junior Colleges. I, however declined it. I wanted to go but my parents voted against it. Ahh, Such is life. But Life Goes on.

I also happened to witness the Scribbler’s Day where about a thousand dipsites of class 12 are released in the football field and they write all sorts of messages on each others shirts because its their last day as normal dipsites after which they must study for their exams. Sad. But life goes on.

I shall miss you guys, thanks for making this year worthwhile for me.

As I bid goodbye(or as I already have) to this great year, I hope that this new year brings the same challenges and joys and people. Now I understand why being 16, is what it is. Id rather be 16 till I die. But nonetheless, I am going to be 17, which by any means is old. Also, this shall be my last year as an exunite, and as a dipsite. Sad. But life Goes on.

D-Day!

Hello friends
School resumed today. We all had to wear our winter uniform for the very simple reason that winters are approaching, and its going to be cold. Winter hasnt exactly set in, and its just a bit cold, but we still had people wearing undershirts, a sleeveless sweater, a blazer above that. And yes, these people were also seen to be wearing spectacles, the kinds that Jassi used to wear. But then there were people who simply didnt know about the winter uniform or just didnt bother enough to buy any.
Oh did I tell you, I bought Nike Jordan Team Handlez.

Anyways, today was the day we got our results, and most of pretty much.. ahem.. you get my point dont you?. I managed an 88%, and I am third in my class.

On a french note, France has officially been fed to the dogs, with 10 straight nights of riots, I cant see the land of love go down.. Somebody do something!!!!

Theres nothing much to say

Have you noticed something?

Hello People
I cant seem to think of anything to write these days, heavy writers block.
Anyways,
Have you noticed something about some hollywood movies, the mushy romantic comedy type ones. It's always the guy running after the woman forever and then he says something and then the woman decides to go away and then she stops talking to him and then when shes leaving the guy does/ says something really sweet after running after her for miles and then hes on his knees. This just makes the woman go awwwww and then she starts crying(very woman-like) and then they both hug and then they live happily ever after.
I have a question to ask. If the guy can make the woman change her thoughts about moving, by saying/doing all that stuff, how come we men are called inexpressive?
Anyways, these movies are nice to watch. The tooth fairy is with me when i say that.
A few movies you could catch: Along came Polly, Cant hardly wait, how to lose a guy in 10 days, etc..
Thats me for now
Same place, sometime in the near future

Doesn't Remind Me - Audioslave

I never was an audioslave fan but I specially liked the video of this song

I walk the streets of Japan till I get lost
Cause it doesn’t remind me of anything
With a graveyard tan carrying a cross
Cause it doesn’t remind me of anything
I like studying faces in a parking lot
Cause it doesn’t remind me of anything
I like driving backwards in the fog
Cause it doesn’t remind me of anything

Chorus
The things that I’ve loved the things that I’ve lost
The things I’ve held sacred that I’ve dropped
I won’t lie no more you can bet
I don’t want to learn what I’ll need to forget

I like gypsy moths and radio talk
Cause it doesn’t remind me of anything
I like gospel music and canned applause
Cause it doesn’t remind me of anything
I like colorful clothing in the sun
Cause it doesn’t remind me of anything
I ilke hammering nails and speaking in tongues
Cause it doesn’t remind me of anything

Chorus
The things that I’ve loved the things that I’ve lost
The things I’ve held sacred that I’ve dropped
I won’t lie no more you can bet
I don’t want to learn what I’ll need to forget

Bend and shape me
I love the way you are
Slow and sweetly
Like never before
Calm and sleeping
We won’t stir up the past
So descretely
We won’t look back

Chorus
The things that I’ve loved the things that I’ve lost
The things I’ve held sacred that I’ve dropped
I won’t lie no more you can bet
I don’t want to learn what I’ll need to forget

I like throwing my voice and breaking guitars
Cause it doesn’t remind me of anything
I like playing in the sand what’s mine is ours
If it doesn’t remind me of anything

Of Sardars

Hello people
Heres what I got in my inbox sent to me by Ridhi Kapur

---mail begins here---
I was standing at jalandhar station when my attention went towards
a Sikh youth standing near me wearing a Black turban having a long
beard and wearing a kirpan over his shirt looking similar to a
terrorist.
After a while, one local train arrived, which was totally packed.
The Sikh youth tried to alight the train but failed to do so. Just
then a voice was heard from the back coach 'Sardarji Barah Baj
gaye' (Sir it's 12 o'clock!)
The Sikh youth looked over at that voice maker who was a young
Mischievous type of person and instead of showing any anger made a
smile towards him.
The smile made was so enigmatic that it seemed as if some type of
truth lies behind it. Not able to resist my temptation, I walked
towards him and asked why did he smile at that person who teased
him.* **The Sikh youth replied,
'He was not teasing me but was asking for my Help'*. I was
surprised with these words and he told me that there was a big
history behind that which one should know. I was eager to know the
History and the Sikh youthnarrated:
During 17th Century, when Hindustan was ruled by Mughals, all the
Hindu people were humiliated and were treated like animals. Mughals
treated the Hindu women as there own property and were forcing all
Hindus to accept
Islam and even used to kill the people if they were refusing to
accept.Thattime, our ninth Guru, Sri Guru Teg Bahadarji came
forward,in response to a request of some Kashmir Pandits to fight
against all these cruel activities.
Guruji told the Mughal emperor that if he could succeed in
converting him to Islam, all the Hindus would accept the same.
But, if he failed, he should stop all those activities . The
Mughal emperor happily agreed to that but even after lots of
torture to Guruji and his fellow members he failed to convert him
to Islam and Guruji along with his other four fellow members, were
tortured and sacrificed their lives in Chandni Chowk. Since the
Mughals were unable to convert them to Islam they were
assassinated.

Thus Guruji sacrificed his life for the protection of Hindu
religion. Can anybody lay down his life and that too for the
protection of another religion? This is the reason he is still
remembered* **as "Hind Ki Chaddar"*, shield of India. For the
sake of whom he had sacrificed his life, none Of the them came
forward to lift his body, fearing that they would also be
assassinated
Seeing this incident our 10th Guruji, Sri Guru Gobind Singhji (Son
of Guru Teg Bahadarji) founder of khalsa made a resolution that he
would convert his followers to such human beings who would not be
able to hide themselves and could be easily located in thousands.
At the start, the Sikhs were very few in numbers as they were
fighting against the Mughal emperors. At that time,Nadir Shah
raided Delhi in the year 1739 and looted Hindustan and was carrying
lot of Hindustan treasures and nearly 2200 Hindu women along with
him. The news spread like a fire and was heard by Sardar Jassa
Singh who was the Commander of the Sikh army at that time. He
decided to attack Nadir Shah's Kafila on the same midnight. He did
so and rescued all the Hindu women and they were safely sent to
their homes.
It didn't happen only once but thereafter whenever any Abdaalis or
Iranis had attacked and looted Hindustan and were trying to carry
the treasures and Hindu women along with them for selling them in
Abdal markets, the Sikh army although fewer in numbers but were
brave hearted and attacked them at midnight,12 O'clock and rescued
women.
After that time when there occurred a similar incidence, people
started to contact the Sikh army for their help and Sikhs used to
attack the raider's at Midnight, 12 O'clock.* **Nowadays, these
"smart people" and some Sikh enemies who are afraid of Sikhs, have
spread these words that at 12 O'clock, the Sikhs **go out of their
senses*.
This historic fact was the reason which made me smile over that
person as I thought that his Mother or Sister would be in trouble
and wants my help and was reminding me by saying off 'Sardarji
Barah Baj Gaye'
Plz do forward this mail to all ur friends so they can know about
sikh history &* its a humble appeal PLEASE dont make fun of
RELIGIONS ! as every religion is as pure as urs.*

Saddam Hussein

Hello people
I have a Computer Exam tomorrow and contrary to popular belief, I did study for it.
I was watching Saddam's Trial today. It was quite funny.

Heres the Link

What I like about him is that even after losing all that he had, he still has total control over himself and most of all, still has Self Respect, which, by the way, matters the most.

That's all I had to say

Amelie

Hello people
Hers something I could scoop up on Amelie

Quotes:
Amélie: It's better to help people than garden gnomes

Georgette: Vive la France.

Narrator
: Amélie still seeks solitude. She amuses herself with silly questions about the world below, such as "How many people are having an orgasm right now?"

Raymond Dufayel aka Glass Man
: So, my little Amélie, you don't have bones of glass. You can take life's knocks. If you let this chance pass, eventually, your heart will become as dry and brittle as my skeleton. So, go get him, for Pete's sake!

Amélie Poulain
: At least you'll never be a vegetable - even artichokes have hearts.

[Amélie hands a begger some money]
Beggar: Sorry madam, I don't work on Sundays.

Old Man at the Two Windmills: Still, true love does exist.
Suzanne, Owner Two Windmills bar: I know. After 30 years behind a bar, I'm an expert. I'll even give you the recipe. Take two regulars, mix them together and let them stew. It never fails.

Bretodeau, The Box Man: Time's funny. When you're a kid, it passes slowly, and next thing you're fifty and your childhood fits into a rusty little box.

Trivia:

The photo booth picture collection is based on a real collection created by a friend of director Jean-Pierre Jeunet. He is credited during the ending credits ("D'après la collection originale de Michel Folco"). A faux photo booth picture collection was created for the film, so that the rights to the real collection did not have to be purchased.

Jean-Pierre Jeunet originally started collecting the stories and memories that make up the story in 1974.

Yann Tiersen was not the original lineup for the soundtrack. Jean-Pierre Jeunet heard the song for the first time while he was being driven to the shooting location.

The one-legged man tap dancing on the TV clip is 'Sam 'Peg Leg' Jackson' , a blues singer

The traveling gnome was inspired a rash of similar pranks played out in England and France in the 1990s. In 1997, a French court convicted the leader of Front de Libération des Nains de Jardins (Garden Gnome Liberation Front) of stealing over 150 gnomes. The idea was later used in an advertising campaign for an Internet travel agency.
